Copying the prebuilt HomePage reports |
|
Many of the prebuilt reports in CRM On Demand are not accessible from the pre-built analyses folder, when you open up the reporting tool. True some are there, specifically those shown on the reporting tab, however those reports that are often shown by default on the Homepages are not listed, they are hidden. While you cant changed any of the prebuilt reports, you can copy them and have them as your own, changing as needed. But how to get a copy of those home page ones. Well here's how; 1. Add the report you want onto the homepage where you can see it 2. Open the 'source' for the page. Now if you want to do this easy, get Firebug for firefox, and right click the report/Inspect element. You will need to find the iframe that holds the report in the screen, within that HTML is the URL that refers to that report.
It might look something like "https://secure-ausomxega.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/analytics/saw.dll?Go&P15=&Style=&StateAction=&P7=&P16=&ViewPos=&Page=&P1=&P14=&P3=&P6=&P19=&P4=&ViewID=&P5=&P13=&P8=&SAWDetailViewURL=saw.dll%3fGo&P9=&P0=&P11=&Path=%2fshared%2fPre-built%20Analysis/Customers Analytics/_Emb/Account Analysis&P2=&ViewName=&PageId=&P18=&Options=r" now just ignore most of it except for the bit in bold. You can see that there is a sub folder under Pre-Built/Customer Analytics called '_Emb', and the report name is (in this case) 'Account Analysis'
3. Clip to your clipboard the bit that is bolded 4. Open the reporting tool , and open a report in the Pre-Built/Customer Analytics folder. 5. Now just edit the URL and substitute the report name of the report you opened for what you have on your clipboard (the bold bit) 6. Hit return and the reporting tool should open up in the hidden system report !! 7. Now you cant change and save it back, but you can save it as another name to a folder you do have access, and you can then change it from there!!
